If I die, I die. #OccupyNigeria

Always reblog.

I had goosebumps watching this woman speak. If this was a speech, it would be better than all the ones our leaders read on T.V with promises and assurances. They are tired. I see all the great things about Nigeria: movie stars, rich children…just a more sophisticated lifestyle.

But as it is in Ghana also, I assume it’s just a tiny proportion of the population that is “living the life”.

I am definitely thinking about Ghana and how we are progressing. Is it just Accra? What would happen if something like this ever broke out? Would people lose their minds?

Someone once that all the “privileged kids” in Accra knew each other. True talk. Because it’s so small, and social circles are defined by money, education and family ties. Yes, everyone works for their money but is our responsibility to our country definitely not greater than donating some rice to an orphanage every Easter and Christmas?

For the corrupt leaders, that’s another story.

But for the privileged ones, seeing the suffering, yes, of people just like them, except that fate placed us in different homes…What do you think? We can all say “Oh yeah, stupid government”, but how strong is your urge to really win this battle against corruption?

Do you feel responsible in any way?

As usual, thoughts are welcome.

This was AMAZING! I can so relate to her “If I die, I die, but Nigeria has to move”. She is hero. I too, grew up seeing children roaming and begging on the streets while my classmates would go out and spend what represents about a £ 1000 pounds in a single night. This situation is unbearable. I am more than sick with these rich African kids, especially here on Tumblr exposing their wealth, living like there were no tomorrow while their parents are back home robbing us all.

It gives me hope that the new generation of Africans are now realising that those corrupted leaders will NEVER give us power, we would have to TAKE IT from them!!

I love this woman.
