A defender of women’s right and an advocate of independence, Margaret Ekpo (July 27 1914 - September 21 2006), was born in Creek Road, Cross Rivers State, Nigeria. She was one of the pioneering female activist in Nigeria, who fought not only for women’s right, but also along side legends like Nnamdi Azikiwe, Herbert Macaulay, etc, to seek independence for Nigeria. Her works in creating awareness for the civil rights movements were nothing short of iconic…to learn more about this wonderful woman, click here (she is worth knowing).
